glowing skin

Dewy and poreless skin! This is likely the ultimate dream for everyone regarding skincare. Then you see the reality in front of the mirror with those blackheads on your nose and whiteheads on your chin poking out saying hello again you can’t get rid of me!

blackheads whiteheads

What are blackheads & whiteheads?

They are oils that are hardened and clumped together clogging our pores. This is the reason why we get them around our T-zone area where our sebum production is most active. So if the blackheads and whiteheads are solidified oils, to remove oil what should you use?

Dr.Lee, a Korean dermatologist and YouTuber with over 300K subscribers claims that the oil needs to be removed by oil. You can think of it as cleaning a frying pan after cooking. To remove the oil from a pan it is more effective to use oil than water. Removing oil on our skin can be seen as an analogy to this method.

Furthermore, Jaina, the Korean beauty influencer and beauty specialist with over 16 years of experience working in the Korean beauty industry has recommended 2 skincare ingredients that work like skin’s own oil to prevent the skin from overproducing sebum.

By simply adding skincare products with these 2 ingredients into your cleansing routine you will be able to remove blackheads on your nose and minimise the look of your pores easily at home.

1st magic ingredient to remove blackheads on the nose – JOJOBA OIL

Jojoba oil benefits on the skin include skin moisture, anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidant, hypoallergenic and it’s non-comedogenic. Its botanical substance is similar to our sebum which our body naturally produces so it can trick our skin into not knowing the difference. This makes it especially suitable for acne-prone skin types as it will help to control sebum production, preventing acne and clogged pores.

2nd magic ingredient, SQUALENE / SQUALANE (Hydrogenated version of squalene)

Similar to jojoba oil, squalene also works as the skin’s own oil to prevent moisture loss, restore suppleness and control sebum production. It can also help protect our skin against lipid peroxidation, damaging our pores.

Using either of these ingredients or just one (we recommend testing them out on your skin first to see which suits you), you can easily remove the blackheads at home during your morning and night skincare routine.

Morning routine:

After waking up and before starting your morning skincare routine, apply jojoba oil or squalene or both to melt your hardened sebum. Simply drop a couple of drops of jojoba oil or apply a cream with squalene or do both and leave on for about 3-5 minutes then wash off your face. You will notice your blackhead and whitehead melted away immediately! So simple and easy.

Night routine:

At night time you can utilise your cleansing oil to remove the blackheads in a really simple method. After cleansing your face using the cleansing oil, apply the same cleansing oil again on your nose with blackheads and leave it on for about 3-5 minutes. Then simply rinse it off and you will notice your blackheads removed immediately.

You can check out our YouTube video to see how this is done.

Salicylic acid acts to decrease the skin’s sebum production so it is not so recommended for dry skin types but will benefit breakout-prone skin.
